What are trans fats? They are the type of fats used by food manufacturers to help foods stay fresh longer, have a longer shelf-life, and have a less greasy feel. Commercially baked goods such as crackers, cookies, and cakes are examples of foods high in trans fats.
So what if they have trans fats? Trans fats may increase blood cholesterol and LDL. HDL at the same time is decreased. With these facts known, we can expect that excessive intake will be destructive of our cardiovascular health.
